Drops of silently melting ice cream
burn my childish memories to ashes,
my sane nervous system crashes
in a smoke-covered painful scream.
Childish smiles slowly begin to fade,
mirrors reflect my grown-up face,
transition steps are left to waste,
as I remain imprisoned in my fate.
Crops of rainbow-colored dreams
trashed in my dusty maturity drafts,
happiness buried in life-made crafts –
Somehow I miss the childhood realms.
